St. Louis has always been a city that makes things. We were built by beer brewers and iron workers. We made our bricks out of Mississippi mud and built a city out of bricks. A lot has changed since then - much of the industry is gone - but we're still making things with our hands. Modern craftsmanship is more celebrated now than ever: St. Louis still makes its own beer, its own music, its own fun - its own way in the world. It is in that tradition that Riverfront Times proudly dedicates our biggest issue of the year - Best of St. Louis® - to the spirit of D.I.Y.

Before we can declare the winners in over 250 categories of music, food, drink, goods and services, we need you to do it yourself: Fill out our annual Readers' Poll and decide your pick for Best CD/Record Store, Best Coffee, Best Local Politician, to name just a few. The listed nominees for each category received the most nominations in the first phase of our contest. You can start your ballot now, save it, and come back as many times as you like until the deadline. Voting ends on September 15 and any partially completed ballots will be submitted as they are.
